LA SEMIOLOGIE, ORGANON POUR UNE RECHERCHE INTER- ET TRANSDISCIPLINAIRE ?

This article brings together the knowledge fields of architecture and semiology. Considerations are presented on the construction of an interpretive frame that is able to grasp the particularity of architectural signs in urban context, specifically the enclosure of urban spaces of nature. The semiological model is expanded with an body phenomenology approach, complemented with considerations by Roland Barthes and Françoise Choay and contextualized in the Parisian urban space. A reading of the architectural enclosure of the Parc André Citroën in Paris clarifies the shaping ability of this architectural typology to produce a comprehensible entity based on an inner context. The definition and negotiability of this place then participates in the (re-)establishment of the park as an urban element in the city.

La crise ambientale in corso richiede di mettere in discussione visioni consolidate del mondo ripensando il rapporto tra umano e naturale. In questo quadro, alcune opere filosofico-ambientali contemporanee esortano a sviluppare visioni inclusive basate su rinnovate forme di incontro e scambio tra tutti i viventi.

Attraverso la lente del concetto di "inclusione", dopo averne chiarito la sua evoluzione, i suoi spazi e limiti, questo saggo richiama e mette in relazione i pensieri filosofico-ambientali di Andreas Weber e di Gilles Clément, esplicatando il loro contributo di affrontare le sfide della contemporaneità.

Die Klimakrise fordert dazu auf, neue Sichtweisen auf den Lebensraum Erde einzunehmen. Landschaftsgestaltung als künstlerische Praxis, die sich der Kreativität des Lebendigen annimmt und dabei den Menschen in seiner realen Umwelt verortet, bietet Impulse und eröffnet neue Perspektiven in transdisziplinären Kontexten. Hervorzuheben sind in diesem Kontext die gegenständlichen und maßstabsübergreifenden Arbeiten des französischen Landschaftsarchitekten Gilles Clément. Mit dem Denkmodell des "Planetarischen Gartens" regt er dazu an, die Erde als Garten und den Menschen als Görtner zu begreifen.

In Communication Colloque Épistémologie, méthodologie et réflexivité en géographie : diversifier et renouveler les regards pour embrasser les pratiques, Le Mans, France.

Au cours de nos activités de recherche, nous sommes le plus souvent accaparé.e.s par nos intérêts thématiques, disciplinaires et méthodologiques : nous cherchons à maîtriser et enrichir la connaissance sur un sujet précis ; nous nous inscrivons dans un ou plusieurs champs disciplinaires avec pour double objectif de s’y légitimer et de participer à son évolution ; et nous souhaitons mettre en place des techniques d’investigation répondant à ces ambitions. Ces préoccupations tendent à nous éloigner d’une réflexion fondamentale nécessitant une prise de recul sur les manières que nous avons de faire de la recherche. Pourtant, travailler sur nos postures de chercheur.e et de recherche est d’une grande richesse, voire une nécessité. Du moins, dans nos cas, nous le vivons comme une introspection constructive à notre épanouissement dans nos activités de recherche et autres projets professionnels et, par conséquent, à leur qualité.

Keitemeier, Anna (2022): ATLAS. Comprehending the Enclosing of Urban Nature. In Meike Schalk / Torsten Lange / Andreas Putz / Tijana Stevanovic (Eds.): Dimensions. Journal of Architectural Knowledge,Vol. 2, No. 3/2022: Species of Theses and Other Pieces.

The enclosing of spaces of nature in urban contexts is today again a common practice in Paris. Whereas modern planning produced open green spaces, multiple changes in the late 20th century resulted in the revival of the urban park, which refers again to the traditional element of structural enclosing. After defining the enclosing of spaces of nature in Paris as a research object and situating the genre of atlas in research practice, this article elaborates upon the atlas as an epistemic genre and a visual form of knowledge production. Urban landscape projects realized in previous decades are presented while critically discussing the applicability of the atlas to urban and landscape design research.

The thesis aims to understand how the element of enclosure intervenes in contemporary urban landscape designs in different European metropolises. The article first questions the place of this element in the design of gardens, urban parks, and green spaces from a broader perspective. Then it is question of iden-tifying the changes that impacted the landscape architecture field in Paris in the 1970s, in order to study the context of the renewal of the urban park, in which the return of the element of enclosure is discerned.

Keitemeier, Anna (2018): L'apport des clôtures autour des parcs urbains à l'espace public, consideré bien commun. ENSA Paris-la Villette.

This thesis addresses the issue of urban parks and public gardens as a commons in order to understand the contribution of their fences to public space.Urban parks are part of the public space. But what is public space today? There are two dimensions that form it: spatiality/physics and society/politics. Public space is also a commons - a commons in both senses of the Common Good and the Commons. The concept of landscape is omnipresent. These recurrent polysemies of key notions will be discussed in the dissertation, on the one hand by drawing on theoretical research and on the other hand by making sensitive analyses, in urban parks in Paris, witnessing different times and issues. Links and barriers between these and their surroundings are studied.
